Acceptable use policy

Effective July 1, 2026

In plain terms

No fraud, no impersonation, no harassment, no spam, nothing targeting an individual. Valid reports are actioned within 24 hours and the line is terminated without refund.

This policy is short and it is enforced. A provider that tolerates abuse loses its carrier ranges, and then nobody gets a number — including the overwhelming majority of customers who are doing something entirely ordinary.

Prohibited outright

  • Fraud. Using a line in furtherance of any scheme to obtain money, goods, credentials or access by deception.
  • Impersonation. Presenting as another real person, business or public body.
  • Harassment and stalking. Any contact directed at a specific individual who has not consented to it, including through third parties.
  • Unsolicited bulk messaging. Marketing, phishing or any high-volume outbound campaign.
  • Child sexual abuse material, terrorism, or trafficking of any kind. Reported to authorities, not merely terminated.
  • Circumventing a ban imposed on you by a platform for the conduct above.
  • Reselling access to the line to third parties.

Explicitly permitted

Because the boundary matters in both directions:

  • Keeping your personal number off commercial signup forms.
  • Registering accounts under a pseudonym where the platform permits pseudonyms.
  • Receiving verification codes for accounts that are yours.
  • Separating business, dating, marketplace or travel contact from your personal life.
  • Journalism, research and source protection.
  • Testing SMS and voice flows you are building.

Reporting abuse

Mail [email protected] with the number, the approximate time, and what happened. We investigate every report and action valid ones within 24 hours. You do not need to be a customer, and you do not need to be a lawyer.

What action means

Termination of the line without refund, permanent refusal of future orders where we can identify the buyer by payment address, and referral to law enforcement where the conduct warrants it. We do not warn first for anything in the prohibited list.

Our limits

We cannot read message content to police it — retention is 24 hours and we do not scan it. Enforcement is therefore report-driven. That is a real constraint of building a system with nothing in it, and we would rather state it than pretend to a capability we do not have.
