Reviews

What buyers actually say

40 reviews from buyers, collected on-site from verified orders. We do not run a Trustpilot page, we do not buy placement, and the three-star reviews stay up.

Quick answer

HushSMS averages 4.7/5 across 40 verified on-site reviews — 29 five-star, 9 four-star, 2 three-star, and no one- or two-star — with 98% of buyers saying they would recommend it. Every review is tied to an order’s one-time access token and no identity is stored. Buyers most consistently praise activation in about 41 seconds and reliable SMS and voice codes on Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, Discord, Instagram, Uber and Airbnb (and Google and Apple via the never-recycled pool). The same reviews confirm HushSMS openly refuses sales for services a virtual number cannot pass — PayPal, Revolut, Wise, regulated banks and government ID portals. The main criticism, concentrated in the three-star reviews, is country-coverage gaps, with isolated notes of an OxaPay checkout timing out and a panel UI that feels dated.

What sold me was the page saying Revolut would not work. Every other provider took my money for that and then argued. These people turned the sale down.

Newest first. Nothing is hidden, reordered or filtered out.

As a developer this is close to what I want from a vendor. I provisioned the lines programmatically, and webhooks are HMAC-signed so I never trust an unsigned inbound. Paid in crypto with a single access token, no accounts. Only real wish was sandbox test credits so I could dry-run without spending — otherwise clean.

Marked down for: No sandbox test credits to dry-run against

What sold me was the honesty. I asked support if I could use this for a bank 2FA and they flat-out said no, virtual numbers won't pass a regulated bank, buy something else. So I used the 6-month line for Google and Amazon 2FA instead and it's been flawless. Refreshing to be told what won't work before paying.

Bought a 12-month line as a recovery number for my accounts and it does the job. Paid in Monero, no email asked, one-time token and I was done. Only gripe is the control panel looks like it's from 2015 — functional but the UI could use a refresh. Everything else is solid.

Marked down for: Panel UI feels dated

I bought the cheapest Romanian line expecting it to fail on Telegram and it just worked, first try, about fifteen seconds. Second year on the same number now.

Solid for Vinted and a couple of other marketplaces. The line itself works great. A star off only because I really wanted an Albanian number and they don't carry it yet — Greece was a fine fallback. If they widen the Balkans a bit I'd be all in.

Ordered six 3-month lines for a staging environment. REST API is clean, webhooks are HMAC-signed so I could verify authenticity server-side without trusting the payload. Provisioning was near-instant across all six. Documentation could be a touch deeper but I figured it out fast.

Marked down for: Documentation could be a little deeper

We run OTP testing across eleven markets. The webhook signing and the flat per-line pricing meant I could expense it without writing a business case.

Needed a quick OTP for a one-off signup and the single-code option was the cheapest thing I've paid for online in ages. Code landed in maybe 15 seconds. No account, no subscription, paid in USDT and moved on.

Picked up a 1-month Thai number for a trip so I had a local line for Grab and hotel confirmations. Live in under a minute, received every code. For a short stay it was cheaper and less hassle than a physical SIM.

The number does receive my messaging codes fine, so functionally no complaints. But two things kept me from a higher score: the panel really does feel dated to use, and I'd hoped for a specific Latin American country they don't carry yet so I settled on Colombia. Works, just didn't wow me.

It works, but the buying experience frustrated me. The invoice timed out twice before my payment confirmed and I had to regenerate it each time — support explained it was the crypto confirmation lag and the third try stuck. Once live the number was fine and my Telegram code arrived. Just wish checkout were smoother.

Works as advertised. The 24-hour message retention is the right default for this use case. Gave four stars rather than five only because I'd still like a few more countries on the list — I kept hoping for Ecuador.

Used a 3-month line to keep my dating apps separate from my real number. Works well on Tinder and I like that nothing's tied back to me. The 24-hour message window means if I don't check quickly a code can expire from history, so I just grab them promptly. Minor, but worth knowing.

Decent line for keeping personal dating stuff separate. Works on the apps I use. I went with the premium pool for the memorable digits and it did cost noticeably more than a standard number — worth it to me but budget folks should just take standard, it works identically.

Verification

How we verify every review

Every order issues a one-time access token at checkout. That token is the only thing that links a review to a purchase, and all it proves is that someone paid for a line. We never ask for a name, an email, or a phone number, so there is nothing inside a review that could point back to the person who wrote it.

To post, a buyer redeems the token from their order. Our system confirms it maps to a real, paid order and that it has not already been used, then spends it. This is why every rating on this page comes from a confirmed buyer, and why no one can pad the page with reviews they never paid for. No token, no review.

Because we store no identity, verification stops at “this was a real order.” We cannot link a review to a person, a wallet, or an IP, and we do not try. IP addresses live in memory only and are never written to disk. Message contents are held for 24 hours and call metadata for 30 days; neither is ever attached to a review.

The trade-off is deliberate. We would rather prove a purchase than prove a person. A “verified order” badge here means the crypto invoice cleared and the token was redeemed exactly once. It does not mean we know who you are, and for a no-KYC service that is precisely the point.

How we collect reviews

The rules this page is held to

No purchased reviews

We never buy, pay for, or incentivise a review. No discount codes for five stars, no free months for a testimonial. Every entry here comes from someone who paid full price for a line and decided, unprompted, to write about it.

Negatives stay up

We publish the three-star reviews alongside the rest: the checkout that timed out twice, the country we do not cover, the panel a buyer called dated. Fair criticism stays exactly where the buyer left it. Hiding it would make the page a lie.

We do not edit or delete

Reviews are posted as written. We soften nothing, rewrite nothing, and remove nothing. The one exception is a buyer who asks us to take down their own review; we honour that, because the words are theirs to withdraw.

On-site only

Every review is collected here, from a redeemed order token. We do not scrape Reddit, quote Trustpilot, or borrow star counts from anywhere else. If a claim about us cannot be tied to an order on our own system, it does not appear on this page.

Review FAQ

Questions about these reviews

Is HushSMS legit?
Yes. HushSMS has operated since 2019, sells carrier-allocated virtual numbers across 68 countries, and provisions a line in about 41 seconds. On this page it holds a 4.7/5 average across 40 verified on-site reviews, every one tied to a redeemed order token. It is also openly honest about its limits: it refuses sales for PayPal, Revolut, Wise, regulated banks and government ID portals, because a virtual number cannot pass them.
Are these reviews real or purchased?
They are on-site testimonials from order-token-verified buyers, shown as initials or “anon” with a country flag, since we store no identity. We never buy, incentivise, or invent reviews, and we never attach names, faces, or upvote counts we cannot prove. If it is on this page, it came from a redeemed order on our own system.
How do you verify a review is from a real buyer?
Each order issues a one-time access token at checkout. To post, a buyer redeems that token, and our system confirms it maps to a paid order and has not been used before. There are no accounts and no emails involved. No token, no review.
How is the average rating calculated?
It is the plain mean of every published review’s star score across all use cases, with no weighting and no dropped outliers — currently 4.7/5 across 40 reviews. The distribution bars show the exact count behind each star level, so you can check the math against the total yourself.
Do you remove negative reviews?
No. Three-star reviews with specific criticism stay up permanently. The only review we ever take down is one whose author asks us to remove their own words, never one we simply do not like.
Can I submit a review?
Yes, if you bought a line. Redeem the one-time token from your order and write what you think. You do not need an account or an email, because the token is the only thing we check and the only thing that ties your review to a real purchase.
Why do you only collect reviews on your own site?
Because on-site is the only place we can prove a purchase without knowing the purchaser. A redeemed order token ties a review to a paid line and nothing else. Off-site platforms would require the accounts and emails we deliberately never collect, leaving us no honest way to tell a real customer from anyone with an opinion.
Why don’t reviews show full names or photos?
Because we never collect them. With no identity on file, the most we can attach to a review is the buyer’s initials or “anon” and the country flag of their line. Stock faces and surnames would mean we were storing data we promise never to keep.
Why are there no one- or two-star reviews?
Every supported service carries a 24-hour refund window if a code fails to arrive, so genuine failures get money back rather than a one-star. We also refuse sales we know will not pass, such as PayPal, Revolut, Wise, regulated banks and government ID portals, so no one is left rating a number for a job it was never sold to do.

Live in about 41 seconds. Refund within 24h if a supported service fails. No document ever changes hands.
