Verification and compatibility

Which services will reject a virtual number?

Answer

Regulated finance and government portals, essentially. PayPal, Revolut and Wise sit on HushSMS's unsupported list — 3 of the 51 services in the directory — because they refuse virtual allocations at onboarding, and checkout flags them rather than taking the money. Everything else in the directory works, with country and pool choice mattering most for Google, Apple and WeChat.

The longer version

The rejection happens in a range-database lookup that takes milliseconds and is invisible to you: the service asks what kind of number this is, gets an answer it does not like, and shows a generic error. There is nothing to appeal and nothing a provider can do about it, because the classification is a property of the allocation rather than of your line. Publishing the list costs us sales and is still obviously correct — a customer who buys for PayPal, fails, and demands a refund costs more than the order was worth, and tells everyone. The unsupported list is also the one place where our refund policy explicitly does not apply, precisely because we told you first.
