What happens when my term expires?

Answer

The line stops working and the number leaves your control. HushSMS terms do not auto-renew, so nothing charges you and nothing continues by accident. Renew before the end date and you keep the same number; let it lapse and it returns to stock, where a standard line may eventually be reissued. Anything verified against that number, WhatsApp and Telegram included, goes with it.

The longer version

This is the most expensive mistake available in this category, and it is entirely avoidable. Put the end date in a calendar the day you buy, and prefer a twelve-month term for any line an account depends on — the discount is a side benefit, the real point is fewer expiry events to forget. Where a service allows a second recovery factor that is not the number, set it, because it converts a lapsed line from a lockout into an inconvenience. If you are done with an account entirely, letting the number go is fine; just retire the account first rather than leaving live password resets pointing at a number someone else will hold.
